A short prayer of protection by Ṣubḥ-i-Azal
The following prayer by Ṣubḥ-i-Azal is to be used along with the graphic form or calligram of the Greatest Name of God (ism allāh al-aʿẓam). Usually with these things one writes out the seven sigils (which here can be seen at the bottom of the prayer) and one then carries it on ones person as a protective amulet. The source for this piece is from a private MS. collection in Iran (reproduced below the translation). The English translation from the Arabic of this prayer is mine.
In the Name of God the Compassionate, the Merciful!
Glorified art Thou, O God my God, I beseech Thee by Thy Name through which every darkness hath been repelled and every light hath dawned and illumined the Countenance in the empyrean of the possibilities and brightened the Beauty in the Kingdom of the creatures, that Thou may protect the carrier of this tablet by Thy Sovereignty and Thy Ability from every assembly and every pestilence, for verily Thou art powerfully capable over all things!
